HealthSmart 2-Person Infrared Sauna: Hemlock or Cedar?
Joint or muscle pain can make a spa trip impractical. A home sauna gives older adults a private place to rest if the heat and entry feel safe.
This review of the HealthSmart 2 Person Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna, among HealthSmart saunas, covers materials, size, heat, comfort, safety, setup, and value. Begin with its published specifications.
HealthSmart Saunas: Specifications and Dimensions
Retail listings give a 47 x 42 x 75-inch exterior, 43 x 37 x 68-inch interior, 330-pound assembled weight, and a two-person bench. It uses 1,750 watts, 120 volts, and a 15-amp NEMA 5-15 plug.
Nine heaters, including three full-spectrum units, use an interior digital control. The listed range is 118 to 132 F. Bluetooth/FM audio, speakers, LED chromotherapy lighting, a five-year limited warranty, and panel assembly are listed. Finish, accessories, and warranty terms may vary by seller or wood option.
How Hemlock and Cedar Differ
Cedar is darker, aromatic, naturally durable, and costs more. Hemlock is pale, lightly scented, and suits lower budgets. Both need dry wiping and ventilation. Pick the grain and room style you prefer, not a health difference.
Will It Fit Your Room and Daily Routine?
Measure every doorway and hallway, then leave clearance above the 75-inch cabin. Place it on a level floor near the correct outlet, with air circulation and open space for safe entry. A two-person bench feels roomy for one adult but close for larger adults.
What HealthSmart Saunas Offer for Comfort and Heat
Full-spectrum infrared uses near, mid, and far infrared wavelengths. It warms the body more directly than a high-temperature traditional sauna, although the cabin warms too. Sessions may support relaxation and temporary muscle comfort after activity. They don't diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Helpful Features for Seniors and People With Pain
Prioritize a low threshold, a bench you can sit on easily, useful interior lighting, and controls you can read without bending. Back support and a session timer may make use more comfortable.
Start at low heat for a short session, drink water, and stop for dizziness, weakness, chest discomfort, or unusual pain.
Short Sessions Are Easier to Manage
Use the timer rather than trying to tolerate heat. Keep a clear path to the door, and don't sauna alone if balance or mobility is a concern.

Check the Room, Power, and Policy
For HealthSmart saunas, verify the outlet can handle the dedicated load, and don't rely on an extension cord. Review the return policy, limited-warranty exclusions, delivery path, and whether you need help carrying and assembling panels.
